Nexxa.ai Closes $9MM Seed Round
Nexxa.ai, an Augment portfolio company building specialized AI agents for heavy industry, announced a $9MM Seed round led by Construct Capital, with significant participation from Augment Ventures and a16z speedrun. Augment initially invested in the company during their $4.4MM pre-seed round.
Nexxa is focused on a clear wedge: bringing AI into the real workflows of industrial engineers across rail, construction, manufacturing, and critical infrastructure—without forcing customers to rip and replace their existing systems. Their platform sits on top of the tooling industrial operators already use, helping teams modernize planning, execution, and operations while driving measurable outcomes quickly.
At the core of the product is Nitro, Nexxa’s multi-agent orchestration layer, paired with a forward-deployed engineering model designed to deliver resilient, production-grade deployments in weeks. The approach is built for high-stakes environments where explainability, compliance, and operational standards matter.
We’re excited by Nexxa’s early traction with enterprise customers, including Siemens, Matikon, and many others who are still under NDA. With this new capital, the team plans to expand deployments across additional workflows and scale into the core sectors that underpin the U.S. industrial base.

Philipp Wehn, co-founder and CEO of Nexxa.ai commented on the closing, “Everyone talks about AI disrupting white-collar work. The real opportunity is strengthening the backbone of the economy. America is in a race to rebuild heavy industry, so we’re making AI native to industrial engineering and operations, bringing it directly into the existing tools and workflows industrial companies use every day, so they can lead and grow their company in a way they never could before.”
Sonali Vijayavargiya, Managing Partner at Augment Ventures also shared her thoughts, “Nexxa.ai is taking specialized AI out of the lab and putting it to work in heavy industry. They are delivering measurable ROI in rail, construction, and manufacturing sectors where complexity has historically slowed adoption. That ability to translate AI into real operating leverage gives us conviction that Nexxa can build a category-defining company.”
