Nic is the Director at Augment Ventures. Nic joined Augment in 2013 as an Associate, and brings over 15 years of experience across Venture Capital, Startups, Early Stage Technology, Sustainability, and Engineering.
Previously, Nic was COO of Detroit Materials, an advanced high strength steel startup; managed the commercialization of Wayne State University’s $20 MM portfolio of physical science innovations; designed a waste to energy business with Green Garage Detroit; consulted with the State of Maryland, identifying $7.5B in economic opportunity in offshore wind; consulted with Toda Kogyo helping them win a $35M DOE Grant; interned at a bay area startup and an Ann Arbor Venture Capital Firm; and led the CleanTech Team for the University of Michigan Ross School of Business’s seed stage investment fund.
Nic began his career as an engineer at Ford Motor Company where he created and led a special project team to invent and implement two engine control software blocks, and bring two new sensors to market. Nic holds an MBA from the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business (High Distinction), a Master of Environmental Science from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
